On Tuesday, Oct. 24, 21st Century Fox’s Public Affairs team, in collaboration with FOX Sports, hosted an exclusive Washington, D.C. party for Game 1 of the World Series, where guests watched the Houston Astros take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on FOX.

FoxNext oversees video gaming, location-based entertainment, and virtual and augmented reality productions across Twentieth Century Fox Film and Fox Networks Group. The division, which was just formed in January, announced its first acquisition: Aftershock, a leading creator of mobile games with studios in Los Angeles and San Francisco. With the acquisition, 21CF takes a big step into the video-gaming business, adding the development and distribution of new games to its successful portfolio of licensed games.

Today it was announced that 21CF is participating in a $12.6 million funding round for VR storytelling company Within (formerly Vrse), led by Andreessen Horowitz.

FOX Sports is taking the Big East men’s basketball tournament where it’s never been before: virtual reality. The 2016 tournament, which kicks off Wednesday, March 9, at Madison Square Garden, will be aired on FS1 through the semifinals, with the final airing Saturday, March 12, on FOX. All games will be available for streaming on the FOX Sports GO app.
