On Thursday, March 2, Cynopsis Media honored National Geographic with its inaugural Impact Award in the Network category at their third annual Social Good Awards in New York City. The Social Good Awards recognize brands, campaigns and individuals for outstanding work in areas ranging from environmental initiatives to voter registration to combating addiction.

As part of this commitment to drive a positive impact in the communities where our colleagues live and work, today 21CF has announced Liba Wenig Rubenstein as its Senior Vice President of Social Impact. The company has also promoted Vijay Sudan and Shira Oberlander, who launched 21CF’s social impact program in 2013, to Vice President, Social Impact.

21st Century Fox has announced a contribution of more than $125,000 to the Malala Fund, an organization advocating for secondary girls' education around the world. The gift consists of funds raised through a company-wide employee matching program, as well as a social media campaign led by 21CF and the National Geographic Channel, and will help provide education for Syrian refugee children.

On Feb. 18, 21st Century Fox and the National Geographic Channel launched a new social media campaign to drive support and awareness for girls' education. The initiative extends through March 10, giving viewers the chance to celebrate this year's International Women's Day by taking part in the campaign and contributing to the education of the more than 60 million young women who are out of school around the world.

In celebration of the exclusive global television premiere of "He Named Me Malala," Academy Award winner Davis Guggenheim’s feature documentary about the life of Nobel Laureate and activist Malala Yousafzai, 21st Century Fox and National Geographic launched a new social media campaign today to drive support and awareness for girls’ right to education no matter where they are in the world.
