Heritage

Seasonal photographs are rare and fun finds in in the Fox Archives. These holiday photographs are part of the Starhead collection (a sub-collection of the Fox Archives photography collection), which consists of portraits and candid moments of Fox employees when the star system was in place.

On Thursday, Dec. 14, 21CF hosted the world premiere of “The Post” at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

Yesterday, 21st Century Fox announced that it intends to spin off to shareholders a portfolio of its highly rated news, sports and broadcast businesses to create a new “Fox,” which will include Fox News Channel; Fox Business Network; FOX Broadcasting Company; FOX Sports; Fox Television Stations Group; and sports cable networks FS1, FS2, FOX Deportes and Big Ten Network (BTN). Separately, 21CF announced that it has entered into an agreement to combine the rest of its businesses with Disney, including all the company’s film and television studios, cable entertainment networks, and international television businesses.

Heritage

In December of 1967, the film “Valley of the Dolls” premiered in U.S. theaters. The film was a massive production that was shot in many locations on the East and West Coast, with glamorous costumes and trendsetting hair and makeup.

Social Impact

In its annual report on the ethnic and gender diversity of the television industry, the Directors Guild of America in November identified Twentieth Century Fox Television as the industry leader in hiring diverse voices behind the camera.

As part of a long-standing partnership with the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit Horton’s Kids, 21CF held a special advance screening of “Ferdinand” last week for the organization’s children and their mentors.

This morning, 21st Century Fox received a total of 39 Golden Globe Awards nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards air on Jan. 7, 2018, at 8 p.m. ET.
