On Wednesday, Sept. 13, 21st Century Fox, along with colleagues at National Geographic, hosted a reception and sneak preview of the new documentary special “Breaking2” (airing Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 8/7c on National Geographic Channel) at Nike’s Field House in Washington, D.C.

21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch and “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” director Matthew Vaughn co-hosted a private screening last night in London for the upcoming action-adventure film. Students participating in the Ghetto Film School (GFS) 2017 London Summer Workshop and luminaries from the U.K.’s creative industry were among those who attended the screening of the second installment of 20th Century Fox Film’s “Kingsman” franchise, a week ahead of the world premiere.


During his session at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia 2017 conference on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 21st Century Fox Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch sat down with Goldman Sachs analyst Drew Borst to discuss a wide range of topics, including 21CF’s response to the UK’s Secretary of State’s referring 21CF’s cash offer for Sky plc to the Competition and Markets Authority, the need to address theatrical windows and the strength of FOX Sports.


Below are 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch’s remarks to the Royal Television Society Cambridge Convention 2017, which he delivered earlier today. The Royal Television Society is an educational charity promoting the art and science of television.


On Monday, Oct. 2, at 9/8c, FOX will open another door to the Marvel universe on the small screen with the new family adventure series “The Gifted.” The series, which comes from 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television, revolves around a suburban couple who discover that their children have mutant powers. The fallout will feature plenty of action, drama and, more importantly, profound themes that may strike a chord with audiences in the way it does for the show’s accomplished executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner.


At the inaugural Global Positive Forum in Paris on Friday, Sept. 1, Susan Goldberg, National Geographic magazine Editor-in-Chief and National Geographic Partners Editorial Director, discussed the power of storytelling to change the world. National Geographic is an official partner of the new conference, which was created under the patronage of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron. The goal of the Global Positive Forum is to “give voice to agents of change around the world, people who are thinking and acting in new ways, and leading positive initiatives,” all in hopes of making the world of tomorrow better than the world today.

Star India, the leading sports broadcaster in India, won the global media broadcast and digital rights to VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches on Monday. With a global consolidated bid of 16,347.5 crore ($2.55 billion), Star secured global rights to IPL from 2018 to 2022.
